***Note, I am not actually thinking about dying for anyone. One of my friends is going through some rough stuff, and I have been thinking about it a lot. This just sort of started writing itself.

It would be easy to die for you
A note of lyrical prose to dedicate the act,
The act itself,
Quickly done,
Then nothing more.

Yes, that is a sacrifice I could easily make for you.

But what good would that do?
Does it take more courage to die for someone,
Or to live for them?
To live for you...
To stay awake with you until 2:30 in the morning,
Holding your broken heart gently in my hands
Stroking it softly with my fingers
And bringing it close to my still-beating heart,
That your broken, shattered organ may learn to beat again.
To live for you would not be a simply deed quickly accomplished.
It would take time, and strength.

But I would do it.
Would create a fragile, tender cage around you with my arms,
And hold your hurt close to me
Not that I might make you feel less, for how could I?
But that you would know I carry your burden too.
You would not be alone.

And when you healed and your heart was whole again,
I would stay by you,
Basking in your contentedness,
Your happiness,
Your life.

No, staying alive for you would not be as easy as
Dying in your name,
But I would make the journey
For you
That you may someday live
For me.

I sat in the window and saw you walking
With a girl.
You were both smiling
I haven't seen you really smile since you left my room that night
Tomb
Was I not good enough for you?
The razors slice me open
And
I
Bleed
Why can she make you laugh?
And I make you...cry?
How is that right?
I LIKED YOU.
Like?
Love?
Need.
I see you with her and I BLEED.
WHY did you have to mess EVERYTHING up?
We were friends!
Sure it dragged me down that you didn't like me that way, but I could make you laugh
You made me happy
And now I bleed.
She makes you laugh.
I watch from a distance,
Wondering what is so repulsive about me that you couldn't stand the idea of being with me.
This is the worst pain I have ever felt.
Ever.
I look i nyour eyes and remember why I fell in love
I look at your bottom lip and remember enjoying having it in my mouth.
I can't look at your arms.
Them around me was...perfection.
I love to be held.
By you.
Your arms pulling me tighter closer harder than I have ever been held
Was heaven.
I love the idea of another person wanting to be that close to me.
But you don't want that.
You are so repelled by the idea that you can no longer be around me.
I need to cry
But I can't.
I am always watched here.
I want to cry alone in my room.
I don't want anyone to be there
To hear me
To try to make me feel better.
I need to just...sob
Until I am empty of this poison.
How can this still hurt so much?!
"You take the breath right out of me,
You left a hole where my heart should be
You'll have to fight just to make it through,
'Cause I will be the death of you"

A quickly beating heart
A shaking hand, poised to knock
Upon your door
I see no more
As I close my eyes
My heart it flies
Against my chest
My very breath
Comes quick and shallow
Your voice is hallowed
I hear it muffled
Through the door
I open it up,
My breathing stops
For a second
Words
Don't
Come.
I awkwardly form a sentance
Asking for what I seek
My voice it comes out weak.
You answer.
I speak again.
You speak in turn.
We clear the air...
...
Maybe.
